City Villages

Areas designated as R2 in the City of Ottawa Zoning Bylaw are generally able to accommodate 2 units plus 1 "secondary unit" or 2 units as semidetached with 2 secondary units. This depends heavily upon the site size.  You could live in one unit and rent the other units or you could own the building as an equity cooperative or condominium with others.
